I just wanted to remind everyone that I will be starting this blog on January 01, 2009! I am super excited and at the same time a little nervous (a good nervous). Over the last couple of months God has been bringing more topics to my mind and I hope that those of you who take the time to read these posts will make honest and heart-felt comments. I do not mind criticism AT ALL. That's how we learn!
Anyway, please join me here on 01/01/2009! I am so excitied! I'm going to send out a couple of e-mail reminders/invites to some of my friends, so if you get one that's why! If you have any friends that are staff wives or know of someone who is on staff at a church please invite them to read this blog.
AND if you are ever interested in being a "guest blogger" (HA!) just let me know!
Thanks! And I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Topics to Begin With......Part II

I have to admitt that I am becoming VERY excited about this blog. I can't wait to start it at the beginning of the year. I have thought of a few more topics I will try and tackle. Here they are in no particular order:
  • Bloom Where You Are Planted
  • Zip Your Lip and Throw Away The Key
  • The High Wire Act

I hope that all of you were able to do something special for your senior pastor and his family this past month. I know that whatever it was it meant something to them.

Please feel free to tell any of your friends who might be in a support role at their church to come and join in on the discussions.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

  • How to deal with hurt from another staff or church member

  • The best way to be a friend to your pastor's wife

Don't Forget!

I know I said that I wasn't going to start this until January, but very quickly I wanted to remind everyone that the month of October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Our senior pastor's and their wive need our appreciation! Take time this month to tell them what they mean to you and use your natural, God given talents to express that appreciation. Whatever your budget, talent, passion or ability, use it to glorify God in who HE had placed in leadership (even if you don't always agree with them or feel appreciated yourself).
And PLEASE, tell me what you did! I always need new and fun ideas!

Purpose

Hello again!

Well, I know that I said in my last post that I would not be starting this blog until January 2009, but I wanted to lay out the purpose behind starting this particular blog. Some people start a blog to keep their friends and family up to date on their lives. Some start a blog to have an outlet for their thoughts and feelings. And some people start a blog to pass along words of wisdom and encouragement. The last reason is why I am starting this blog.

In the world of blogs, I have noticed that there are not many that really speak to the heart of an associate pastor's wife. I have searched, and found a few that are really good and that I feel as though I can relate to. Many, many, many of them speak to the hearts of the head pastors wife and that is great because they need our supoprt and encouragement. But I want to have a spot where the wife of an associate, executive, young married's, children's, or youth pastor can come and be refreshed. Or, maybe you are a woman on staff at a church and you need a little encouragement too. Please join me!

Hebrews 10: 24 says "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works." That is my driving force for this blog. I want to encourage those of you who are behind the scenes.

I am taking the next couple of months and planning out all of the topics I would like to cover. I hope that you will come back at the first of the New Year and begin this journey with me!

Blogs

Well, I know it's been a while, but I'll be honest with you. I am not starting this blog until January 2009, so in the mean time here are a FEW of the blogs I am currently obsessed with. Literally......obsessed.
